Summary of the role

As a Field Service – Aftermarket Technician at Smith Power Equipment, you will be joining a dynamic, innovative and well-established company representing world-wide leading brands in a diverse range of specialist industry sectors with a large footprint across South Africa. The Field Service – Aftermarket Technician will be responsible for providing excellent field services as well as after-sales technical support to both existing and new customers while offering support to sales executives/professionals in the management of sales through account management in a B2B environment. In addition, a good understanding of technology and the industry is necessary to be successful in the role. The ideal candidate would display an exceptional level of self-motivation and ambition to succeed at Smith Power.


  • Plan and repair specialist industry equipment by applying a diagnostic and accurate approach to servicing machinery
  • Drive successful customer and service engagement by meeting the required service level agreement stipulated by Smith Power Equipment
  • Effectively manage customer satisfaction by offering superior product support which will include negotiations with dealers and factory outlets
  • Consistently track, manage and monitor customer interactions to improve customer satisfaction and retention post-sales services
  • Remain abreast with industry trends to adequately support the sales executive / professional, especially to identify opportunities within the existing client base

  • A minimum track record of 5 years technical experience in a related field
  • Valid driver’s license and have access to your own transport
